09/17 2007

Finally we've got our hands on Danger's new EP, titled '09/17 2007'. Yeah, that's the one we've been talking about in the past few weeks (months), and knowing what he usually manages to create, we were pretty excited. Someone must have listened to our prayers, coz these tracks are gooood. Following the events of the last EP, '09/14 2007', this time we leave the jungle and venture into the city with Franck Rivoire's drawn alterego. '80s b-movies, early computer games, skyscrapers and dark cities with steam coming up from the sewer grates compose these sounds, and - besides their great value as simply electronic music - it adds such a great atmosphere to the tracks, sometimes I actually think I'm running in an alley trying to escape punks with chains. The three original tracks - including '4h30', which we alredy heared before are simply great. They aren't boring for a moment and could work on the dancefloor too. Especially 3h16, which is definitely a defining track of the genre and - at least for me - is one of the best tracks of the year yet (including the new Hadouken! LP, too!). I'm not really into Danger remixes, mostly they just ruin the sound and feeling of the track. These too are okay, but don't expect anything special from them. Following such names as Daft Punk and Kavinsky in the past Danger formed his own sound, and after this EP I have to say he's one of the greatest of the scene.

Tracklist:
1 4h30
2 3h11
3 3h16
4 4h30 (Riot Kid Remix)
5 4h30 (Oliver $ Remix)

Danger - 3h16 (320kbps)
